13 and 20
Why February Has Two Launch Dates
And Why This Post Is Dedicated to My Teammate

Two Dates. One Story.
On February 13th, I quietly launched the first three books of the JAG Series on Amazon. A few blog posts. A subdued launch. No fanfare. No press release. Just the books going live on a date that carries enormous personal significance — the 13th.
Today is February 20th. This is the public launch. The day I tell the world. And the reason I chose these two dates — the 13th and the 20th — is one of the many synchronicities woven through my entire life.
This one is about my teammate Tyler. And it’s about something ancient that neither of us knew about when we first met.
The Mayan Calendar and the Numbers 13 and 20
In the Mayan calendar system — one of the most sophisticated timekeeping systems ever created by any civilization on Earth — there are two foundational numbers that govern the entire structure: 13 and 20.
The sacred Tzolkin calendar — the 260-day cycle that the Maya used for divination, ceremony, and understanding the rhythm of creation — is built from the interweaving of 13 tones and 20 day signs. 13 × 20 = 260. The heartbeat of Mayan cosmology. The two numbers that, when combined, create the complete cycle of time.
13 represents the pulse of creation — the tones of intention that move through every cycle. 20 represents the totality of human expression — the full spectrum of archetypal energy that life moves through.
Together, they are complete. Apart, they are waiting to find each other.
My race number was 13. Tyler’s race number was 20.
We didn’t choose those numbers because of Mayan cosmology. We didn’t know any of this at the time. We were just two guys who ended up on the same team, wearing the two numbers that an ancient civilization said were the foundation of all time.
How We Became Teammates
The way Tyler and I met is one of those stories that sounds too clean to be true. But that’s how it happened.
I was visiting Steve Cowing — the Ski-Doo race manager — at his office. Just a drop-in. No appointment, no agenda. We’re talking, and Steve says something like, “Maybe we’ll hook you up with Tyler.”
Steve picks up the phone. Calls Tyler.
Tyler was less than a block away.
He walked into the office. We met. And the rest was history.
No elaborate plan. No months of negotiation. Just a drop-in visit, a phone call, and a guy who happened to be a block away at exactly the right moment. Number 13 meets Number 20. The two foundational numbers of the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, brought together by a phone call and a coincidence that wasn’t a coincidence at all.
We became teammates. We became close friends. And I had the privilege of being the best man at his wedding.
What We Didn’t Know
Looking back now, I can see how much was lined up for us that we didn’t know about at the time. There were connections waiting to be made, opportunities positioned just ahead of us, paths that were paved for us to walk together. Some of them we found. Many of them we didn’t. Some were blocked by circumstances neither of us could see. That’s a pattern that runs through my whole story — destiny lined up and then interfered with.
But the fact that we found each other at all — that Number 13 and Number 20 ended up on the same team, became close friends, that I stood next to him on the most important day of his life — that’s the universe doing what it does. Putting the right people together, even when neither of them understands why.
We were supposed to remember. The energy was with us.
I understand that now in a way I couldn’t then. And I’m grateful for every mile we rode together.
Why This Matters for the Launch
When it came time to choose the launch dates for the JAG Series, the answer was obvious. The quiet launch — the blog posts – the books going live on Amazon — happened on the 13th. My number. The initial post launched at 13:13 on the 13th.
The initial post today at 13:20. The public launch — the day I tell everyone, the day the mission goes visible — happens today, the 20th. Tyler’s number. This post goes live at 20:13.
13:20 to start 20:13 on the 20th for this post.
The two numbers reversed. The two dates mirrored. The Mayan cycle completed in a February launch week.
This is what I mean when I talk about synchronicity. I didn’t force this. I didn’t manufacture it. The numbers were already there — in a Mayan calendar system created thousands of years ago, in race numbers assigned years before I understood any of this, in a friendship that formed because a guy happened to be a block away when the phone rang.
The pattern was always there. I just finally learned how to read it.
A Dedication
So this post is for Tyler.
One of the nicest guys anyone will ever meet. The kind of person who shows up, who keeps it real, who doesn’t need to be the loudest voice in the room but makes every room better just by being in it. A great teammate. A great friend. Someone I’m proud to have stood beside — on the starting line and at the altar.
Tyler, I don’t know if any of this Mayan numerology stuff lands for you. It’s okay if it doesn’t. But I want you to know that when I was choosing the most important dates of my life’s work, your number was right there next to mine. Just like it was supposed to be.
Number 13 and Number 20. The two numbers that make the world turn.
Here’s to you, brother. Here’s to everything we did together, everything we didn’t get to do, and everything that’s still ahead. This post on the 20th is yours. And so is this thank you — thirteen years overdue.
For Everyone Else
If you’re just finding this, welcome. The JAG Series — a 16-book series plus capstone — launched its first three foundation volumes on February 13th. They’re live on Amazon right now. Today, the 20th, marks the public announcement and the beginning of sharing this work with the world.
Start with Book 1 if you’re curious. Start with Book 2 if you’re skeptical. Start with Book 3 if you’re ready for the full story.
And if you want to understand why the dates matter, why the numbers keep appearing, why a guy’s race number and an ancient Mayan calendar are connected — that’s what the books are for.
The pattern is everywhere. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
February 20 — 13:20 — The Public Start, The Light Emerges
February 20 — 20:13 — The Dedication, The Light Goes Public
13 × 20 = 260. The cycle is complete.
With love and gratitude,
Jeff
